The City of Aurora Platform Alignment and Upgrade

Prior to their upgrade, the City’s existing My Place website application utilized Adobe Flash technology. The City needed a solution that would allow for the quick and easy production of mobile ready applications both specific targeted applications and a full-service application to feed a multitude of information to its citizens. The City also was in need of an upgrade to an aging GIS infrastructure and needed to make the change with the least amount of disruption to their publication environment.

With this project, we set up new GIS hardware, ArcGIS Server, and SDE 10.2.2. We also assisted the City in setting up their new My Place (My Government Services) web application. We created data cross walk and automation software, which allowed for the Local Government Information Model (LGIM) to be leveraged while continuing to publish to their existing production environment as the new hardware and software was being setup.

Along with a major overhaul of their GIS environment, they invested in an ArcGIS Online Jumpstart to get them up and running quickly with ArcGIS Online’s maps and apps. With field editing and extending their maps beyond desktop to include mobile devices and tablets, the City is empowering staff and citizens. The City also took advantage of a 12-month support block to tap into our GIS resources.
