    This article is so true. Open book exams for GIS seem so lcaoigl since the GIS world is open book. I remember when I was taking GIS in school and we had a VBA coding exam that was 100% closed book and on paper so you couldn’t even test your code. This seemed strange but I suppose it was more about how you would do something than writing good code to do it. And this is how the world works. You have to figure out how to solve the problem, then you have to figure out how to implement your solution.
